The Ultimate Off-Road Adventure Located in the western United States and sandwiched between Nevada and Colorado, Utah is home to some of the most majestic National Parks in the U.S. The landlocked State is home to not one, not two but five National Parks including, The Arches, Zion, and Capital Reef. The diverse landscape of these three parks with their unique geological formations, breathtaking canyons, and unbelievable views, made it the perfect testing ground for the Syros Sandal. When we heard that friends of Kamik, who are avid hikers and campers, were going to be exploring the State, we made sure they packed his and hers Syros into their luggage for the ultimate field test. For this field test, we partnered with a couple of two intrepid hikers and campers as they set off for adventure in the American West with the Syros Sandals in tow. Image left First stop, Nevada’s Death Valley National Park to explore the sand dunes. Not only does the park have epic sand dunes, it’s also one of the hottest places on the planet. In fact, some of the highest temperatures ever recorded were at Death Valley with summertime temperatures averaging 116 degrees Fahrenheit (47 Celsius). Visiting in spring, like our adventurers, is recommended. The Syros was put through its paces at Zion National Park, where the highest point is 2,660 meters. The park also boasts a number of canyon hikes, including The Narrows, which takes visitors alongside (and sometimes in) the Virgin River, making sturdy, waterproof shoes a must. Image Right Located just outside the town of Moab, The Arches is one of the most popular hiking spots in Utah. The aptly named park is filled with numerous geographical “arches” that are best explored on foot and enjoyed at sunset when the crowds have died down. When hitting the road for adventure (near and far), a wear-it-anywhere shoe is exactly the type of footwear you don’t want to leave home without.
